Aam Admi Party tried to pass off a man who never studied in Delhi as a student of Delhi government school.
In wake of upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on the 8th of February, all the political parties are busy campaigning, including the Aam Aadmi Party. In a similar move to persuade the public and show what 'great work' AAP has done in the last five years, they put out a video on social media claiming that due to their efforts in improving government school in Delhi, a government school student addressed a big 'Tech conference'.
The video shared by the AAP Facebook page had a caption that reads, " We gave pens and computers in the hands of children, and dreams of entrepreneurship in the eyes. They (other political parties) are giving guns and hate. Delhi Govt school student addressing big IT Tech conference. What do you want to give to your children? Tell us on 8 Feb."
(The man in the red circle can be heard giving career advice to a boy)
At the time of writing this article, the video was shared more than 320 times.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal shared the same video on Twitter along with the same caption.
You can watch the video here:
In the video, a man can be heard giving some career advice to a boy, all related to technical works such as Digital marketing. And as per AAP claims, the man is supposed to be a student from Delhi Government School.
However, to AAP and Arvind Kejriwal's embarrassment, the man speaking in video and only speaker at that Tech Event is 'Digital Pratik' (social media name), who came out and told that his entire education is from Gujarat and that he is thankful to Narendra Modi for development of Gujarat.
Pratik called out AAP for falsely passing him off a Delhi government school student and put out a notice on Instagram and as well as on Twitter.
The message says, " AAP has shared this video from my 6 Hour Vlog episode !!! In their caption, they have mentioned:*** ?????? Govt school ?? ????? ???? IT Tech ??????? ?? ??????? ?? ??? ?? *** Just to mention: I am not that guy. I have never studied in Delhi. My entire education is from Gujarat & I am proud of the development of Gujarat which is all because of @narendramodi !!! So if in near future, my face is being used in some other ways in politics without clearly mentioning things, then let me tell you, I am just an Indian Citizen who is not involved in politics YET. @aamaadmiparty should have mentioned who that guy is who has studied from Delhi Govt school. Anyways, I have made my point & I don’t care if this post goes into a controversial mode or not because I have all the rights to take a stand if some political party uses my content for their publicity without clearly mentioning the real facts! I have no clue about who that student is from Delhi govt school in this video & nobody out of this video was a speaker at this conference except me so I don’t know what they mean when they are saying: ????? ???? IT Tech ??????? ?? ??????? ?? ??? ?? * That’s all. P.S. I am always trying to spread Garyvee's values as much as I can via my content & now I will do my best for #KindnessKarma too! That's why #garyveechallenge is something which I am using to not win anything from Vaynernation! But to pass on this message (if they see by any chance) that Indian Youngsters are changing & I am gonna do my 1000% in adding my efforts to that mindset shift in Indian Youth when it comes to Digital World."
The tweet in which Delhi CM made false claims, he retweeted a video of a user named Lovkesh Mahato.
It turned out that Mahato is class 10th student of a Delhi Government School, who shared the same video on 22nd January, tagging Delhi government and its official and thanking them for their Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum. The video was captioned, "Thanks @EMC_Delhi for giving me confide.. to speak in public. As a student of @DelhiGovtSchool s class X. Attended India's Biggest @semrush Digital marketing Conference, as an invited guest.
(Man in the Red circle is Digital Pratik and in yellow is Lovekesh Mahato)
It is not clear whether it was a mere mistake by AAP or an intentional lie to fool the people.
However, it is clear that the Aam Admi Party tried to pass off a man who never studied in Delhi as a student of "Delhi government school".
