Truth Behind this video
In our investigation, we found out that this video and claims being made with it are indeed true. An incident took place on 30th October in Semor Village when a man, Nasir Qureshi had come to his in-law's house and had an argument with his wife. Following which he killed his wife with an axe and injured wife's sister and mother, who went to rescue her.
We also found out news reports published by Dainik Bhaskar and The Hindu covering this incident.
However, on the basis of the complaint filed by mob lynching victim’s brother and the video, police have registered a case against 20 people and have arrested five of them. Three arrested are woman’s brother naming Shehnawaz, Salman and Rafeek.
Fatehpur Police has confirmed the arrest by posting on Twitter through its official handle on November 2nd, three days after the incident. They have also shared the accused photo and a press note, comprising of all the details.
Therefore, we can say the claim with the viral video is partially true and Fatehpur police have arrested the main accused in the case and are on a lookout for the rest.
