We were not able to identify the woman in the viral photograph it is clear that the viral photograph was taken during the Shaheen Bagh protests in Delhi. And the woman seen in the image is not Dr. Rajkumari Bansal.
A video has emerged on social media platforms showing multiple laborers from Haryana’s Bahadurgarh claiming they haven’t been given the agreed-upon sum of Rs 350 per person before coming to a protest rally. The video is being shared to show the purported Aam Aadmi Party link in the ongoing farmers' protest in Delhi.
A Facebook user named Shobha Joshi shared the video with a caption in Hindi that can be roughly translated to, "AAP party’s jihadi mentality, watch this ground report and understand the truth behind farmers’ protest."
This post has been reshared over 150 times.
The video is doing rounds on Twitter with the same caption in Hindi.
The video is viral on Facebook and Twitter with the same claim.
In our investigation, we found this claim to be misleading. The viral video is not related to the ongoing farmers' protest in the national capital and dates back to March 2018
With the help of a reverse image search using the keyframes of the video, we found that BJP leader Kapil Mishra has tweeted this video on March 26, 2018, saying that the video is from Kejriwal's rally in Haryana.
Several users have shared this video back then claiming that AAP was bribing people to join their rally.
In 2018, ANI had published a video that shows laborers alleging that they were promised food and Rs 350 each to be present at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s public rally on March 26, 2018.
However, AAP’s national social media team representation, Aarti dismissed the claim and tweeted a juxtaposed video — viral video and a video of the man seen in the viral video confessing that the man was threatened to give that statement. She wrote, “Another Fake Propaganda Burst by the Same Man Right pointing backhand index They made him lie for the sake of their jobs.”
We cannot independently verify if the bribery allegations against AAP are true or false, however, it is clear that this video has nothing to do with the current farmer movement.
In conclusion, a two-year-old video from AAP's rally in Haryana showing labourers asking for an agreed-upon sum of Rs 350 per person for coming to a protest rally is being falsely linked to the ongoing farmers' protest in Delhi.
