A morphed image was circulated to falsely claim that the Indian Air Force used symbols on a fighter jet t to take a dig at Pakistanis who claimed that trees and a crow were the casualties in the Balakot airstrikes.
Recently, a set of two images has surfaced on social media platforms purportedly showing under-construction Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
A Facebook user named Shivam Rai shared the set of images with a caption in Hindi that can be roughly translated to, "This is the first picture of Lord Ram’s temple construction at Ayodhya. Brothers, who feel happy seeing this picture, just say “Jai Shree Ram” once with a pure heart."
A number of other users are sharing the set of images with the same claim on Facebook.
A number of Twitter users are sharing the same pictures with the same caption.
In our investigation, we found this viral claim to be misleading. The viral pictures are not of the under-construction Ram mandir but of the main complex of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple which is under construction in Varanasi as part of the Kashi Vishwanath (KV) corridor project.
With the help of a reverse image search on Google, we found a report published by the Jagran web desk carrying the viral images on October 27. According to this report, the viral image shows the ambitious Kashi Vishwanath (KV) corridor project in Varanasi.
As per the Hindustan Times a
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 8, 2019, laid the foundation of the Kashi Vishwanath (KV) corridor project worth over Rs 1,000 crore. It is being developed on an area of 5 lakh sq ft and is scheduled to be completed by August 2021. The project is aimed at the expansion and beautification of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and will ensure the visibility of the temple directly from the ghat.
As per the latest news reports, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is still at the discussion level.
In conclusion, a set of pictures showing the Kashi Vishwanath (KV) corridor project in Varanasi is being falsely shared to show the under construction Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
