Fact Check

In our investigation, we found that the viral claim is false. This is actually a movie scene from a Bollywood film ‘Kya Yahi Sach Hai’.

After doing a reverse image search on google we found the same image being uploaded as part of a movie review on the 'Koimoi' film news website on ‘30 December 2011’. According to the article, this photo is shared as a still from the Bollywood film ‘Kya Yahi Sach Hai’. The film is based on Ex IPS Officer Y.P. Singh's novel 'Carnage By Angels'. The story and screenplay have also been penned by Y.P. Singh and they are both half-baked.

After using keyword search for 'Kya Yahi Sach Hai' movie we found this movie was uploaded by Ex-IPS officer Y.P. Singh on YouTube on October 24, 2016.The viral scene can be found at the 1:48:18 timestamp in the video.

According to the description of the video, this is a film based on the best-selling novel 'Carnage by Angels' written by the then serving officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), based in Mumbai, India, Y.P. Singh during the time when he was still in service. Y.P. Singh has been an officer of the 1985 batch of the IPS. Seeing the fast deteriorating ethics in police functioning, which otherwise has profound social consequences, Y.P. Singh took it as his mission to fight corruption from within.

The film is based on the best-selling novel 'Carnage by Angels' which was written by the then serving officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) Y.P. Singh.
