Summary

The viral images are being circulated with a misleading claim. The images are at least 5-year-old and are not related to the recent tragic incident which occurred in Himachal Pradesh on May 25, 2020.

Amid the increasing number of coronavirus in India, a screengrab of an alleged Zee News graphic is being widely shared on social media claiming that after June 15, there could be a total lockdown once again. It is further claimed that trains and air travel will also be banned.

A user shared the screenshot on Twitter asking whether if this screenshot is real or fake.

Another Twitter user shared the screengrab of report saying, "India is planning to go under complete Lockdown again from June 15 has been going on a social media platform that claims another lockdown could be imposed in India after 15 June. It also says that the Ministry of Home Affairs will impose a complete ban on air and train travel."

The text on the graphic reads, “Home Minister indicates that after June 15 once again there could be a total lockdown. Train and air travel will be banned.” (Translated from Hindi)

The same screengrab is being shared on Facebook as well.

The truth behind the claim

The viral screenshot is morphed and the claim being made with it is also fake.

Zee News called out this news and informed that the graphic circulating is fake. “A false news is being spread in the name of Zee News on social media."

PIB Fact Check also tweeted that the news is false. PIB Fact Check wrote, "In a photo being circulated on social media, it is claimed that the complete lockdown can be implemented in the country again from June 15 with the ban on train and air travel by the Ministry of Home Affairs. This news is fake. Beware of such misleading photos spreading fake news."

In conclusion, a morphed Zee News graphic is viral on social media claiming that the Home Ministry had indicated that the country will be under complete lockdown from June 15.
