On May 19, it was reported that 28 employees of Zee News have tested positive for coronavirus, and reportedly, the office and studio have been sealed.
After this, a CCTV footage clip is going viral on social media in which a man can be seen fighting with a doctor. A Twitter user shared this video with a caption, "Viral video of Zee News staff member assaulting doctor refusing to get tested. Can we share this like a few thousand times before checking for authenticity like news channels do."
At the time of writing this article, this video has been reshared over 3900 times.
In our investigation, we found that this is an old video from China.
With the help of a reverse image search, we found this video was uploaded by a Chinese media organization, CGTV on October 14, 2018, with the title "Police stress 'zero tolerance' in attack on doctors". According to the report, the video is from Beijing when the family members of an expectant mother thrashed a doctor.
In conclusion, a two-year-old video from China is being shared with a false claim that 'Zee News staff member assaulting the doctor refusing to get tested.'
