A picture of an injured child is going viral on social media with claims that he is from Delhi and was beaten up by rioters while coming back from his school.
A Facebook user name Dhiraj Pandey shared the picture and wrote "The country will not forget this pain! The rioters did not leave the child coming home from school! The painful picture of Delhi riots! What was the fault of this child? The country will not forget this pain!" (Translated from Hindi)
The viral picture received more than 2000 likes and 1900 shares at the time of writing this article
We did a reverse image search on Google and found the boy in the picture is from Syria. The picture is available on Getty Images according to which the boy wounded boy covered in blood is from Syria who was waiting to receive the treatment at a make-shift hospital in Kafr Batna in the besieged Eastern Ghouta region on the outskirts of the capital Damascus.
He was injured in deadly raids carried by the Syrian government on Feb 21, 2018.
This picture has nothing to do with the riots in Delhi. It is from Kafr Batna, Syria when this child was injured in the bombing on 21 February 2018.
