We found that the same video was uploaded on Twitter by Abhinay Deshpande, who is a journalist at The Hindu. The message with the video reads: "This 20-year-old man was dragged out of the car and hacked with knives in front of his #teen wife by her father and three brothers in #Hyderabad".
He also shared an extended video of the incident which was shot from a different angle with a caption "A newly wed youngster was brutally attacked by his wife’s father and brothers in broad daylight on busy SR Nagar road here on Friday evening."

The incident was covered by The Hindu and The News Minute. As per the report, the gruesome incident took place around 6.30 p.m on 7th June.
The victim, identified as Imtiaz (20), who was rushed to a nearby private hospital, was said to be out of danger, while the accused are at large, police said. Imtiaz had eloped with a woman Fatima on June 5 and got married against Fatima’s parents' wishes on June 6.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) A.R. Srinivas said that on Wednesday, the teenager had left home and married Imtiaz in Sadashivpet in Sangareddy. Later in the evening, she was traced and handed over to her parents, following a missing complaint.
“On Friday, her parents called Imtiaz and his family to the police station for discussion. There the girl insisted that she would live with Imtiaz,” police said. Minutes after they left the police station in an SUV, the teenager’s father, her three brothers and a relative waylaid the vehicle after crossing Umesh Chandra statue.
“They dragged him out of the car and attacked him with knives. When he tried to escape, the assailants chased and hacked him.
The claim that a rapist of 8 years old in Barabanki was stabbed in the middle of the road by brave Hindu men is false. No such incident has happened in Barabanki.
