Our Investigation

We did reverse research on google and we found an article The Third Strike of a Presidenta in which the same image has been used. This is the incident of Mexico in the town of Cuitzeo where former Mayor of Tiquicheo María Santos Gorrostieta Salazar was kidnapped on 12 November 2012 by two men when she left her home to take her daughter to school because she dared to fight against drug trafficking groups. After that Maria's body was found on the side of a road and it was told that the cause of her death was "severe head trauma".

We couldn't find any news about the rape case of Mumina Jannat in Delhi or Assam. Although we found a recent incident of Assam girl whose body was recovered under mysterious circumstances at her friend's apartment in Basant Kunj in March this year. The girl was identified as Bidyawati Das.

The viral post with a Photo claiming that a girl from Assam Mumina Jannat was raped and brutally killed is false. No such incident has happened in Delhi. Several people have shared an old image to report this fake incident on social media.
