Recently, a video was widely shared on social media claiming school students in Kerala were mocking Indian National Anthem and communist rule in Kerala is responsible for that. A user named Girish Bharadwaj  shared the video and wrote on Twitter, "Students of a Muslim school on Kerala were found mocking our National Anthem by singing something of their own version, It clearly says, "May the day come when the whole world pronounces & accepts NABI as its unquestionable leader.” This is the result of Communist rule in Kerala!"

Another twitter user also shared the same video on Twitter and wrote, "The situation in Kerala is scarier than you think! Since Islamists cannot worship anyone else other than their Prophet, they have distorted the Indian National Anthem to a payer song of Muhammed Nabi & sing that during National Flag Hoisting!"

The video is viral on twitter with similar claims. 

In the video, some people can be seen hosting flags and singing a song, similar to the tune of National Anthem, in Malayali language. We also received a request to fact check this viral video. 

The truth behind the claim 

As one can see in the video, the flag which is being hosted is not an Indian flag but is a Milad-Un-Nabi's flag that is generally hosted during the celebration of Eid Milad-Un-Nabi, also known as Mawlid and Eid-e-Milad. Here is how Milad-Un-Nabi's flag looks.

A similar flag can be seen in the video down below showing a rally in Kerala. Just like the viral video, the flag in the video has a red section of color on top. 

Eid Milad-Un-Nabi is an Islamic festival that is believed to be the birthday of Prophet Mohammad and is dedicated to his teachings. Muslims sing Naats or verses praising the Prophet, they hoist and carry various Islamic green flags going on the procession. As the flags in the viral video are Milad-un-Nabi flags, we can infer that the video is from the festival's celebrations.

We were not independently able to identify the different version of National Anthem, however, according to an Islamic website, ‘Nabi ye’ refers to the Prophet. Most probably they were singing his praise and about making life beautiful. They, in fact, made the Islamic song in the tune of the Indian national anthem.
