Summary

The claim that RSS issued a digital booklet of the 'new Indian constitution' is completely false. RSS filed a complaint on this issue after which a case has been registered against a person for circulating this fake document on social media.

Recently, a 16-page PDF is doing rounds on social media with a claim that it a new Constitution for India which is published by The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

A twitter user named Shaikh Zubair shared the screenshots of the document with a caption, RSS dividend Indian citizens and their rights watch the new constitution.WHO is Ruling INDIA BJP OR The RSS."

We also received a request for fact-checking these documents on WhatsApp.

You can find the document here

The first page of the document says, “New Constitution for India” with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s photo.

Here are a few points in the booklet that is being circulated:

  • As per the new Constitution of India, India has been declared a ‘Hindu’ nation. From now on, India will only be referred to as ‘Hindustan’.
  • Government jobs and selection to Parliament and the legislative assemblies will be based on the ‘Varna system’ in Hindu dharma.
  • Women have been created by God to reproduce, hence her rights will be confined as per Hindu dharma. Women won’t have voting rights.
  • Hindustan’s president, prime minister, union ministers, chief ministers and cabinets and all MLAs and MPs will be Brahmins.

The truth behind the claim

Following the allegation of issuing a booklet of 'New Constitution', Narender Kumar, Akhil Bhartiya Sah Prachar Pramukh, RSS, called out this document to be 'fake' and tweeted saying, "Seeing their efforts to malign RSS are not working, anti-social elements have adopted a new technique. They are circulating a 16-page booklet with a claim that RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat is behind it. This claim is absolutely false. The RSS chief has not published any such booklet."

Subsequently, RSS filed a complaint on this issue at Nagpur's Kotwali Police station after which a case has been registered against a person for sharing this 16-page document on social media at Khurja police station, as per ANI reports

We scanned the official website of RSS (http://rss.org/) and social media accounts but couldn't find the document anywhere.

In conclusion, the claim that RSS issued a digital booklet of the 'new Indian constitution' is completely false. RSS filed a complaint on this issue after which a case has been registered against a person for circulating this fake document on social media.
