Kiran Bedi, Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry and the first-ever women IPS officer recently posted a video on Twitter that gave netizens an opportunity to troll her. Ms. Bedi shared the video claiming 'NASA recorded the sound of the SUN. Sun chants OM.'

This tweet was reshared by thousands of people. 

In the video posted on Twitter, various images of the sun are displayed with a very vocalized “Om” being audible. You can watch the video here:

Some people trolled her by saying that Ms. Bedi has fallen prey to a Whatsapp forward that is doing rounds on the Messaging app for years.

However, a video released by NASA in 2018 shows the sonification of electromagnetic waves from the sun is not, in fact, an “Om” chant but a “low, pulsing hum.”

This tweet from Ms. Bedi is a perfect example of how people believe the content they receive on social media and share it without even verifying it.
