12 years old Picture from Kathmandu

With the help of reverse research of the image, we found that the claim is false. The viral picture is about 12 years old and belongs the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. The security force personnel seen in the picture belong to Nepal Police.

We found this picture on Adobe Stock's website. According to the website, this photo was taken on March 24, 2008,  by Deepa Shrestha, when Tibetan protesters were demonstrating against China in front of the United Nations building in Kathmandu. In this protest, Nepali police broke up an anti-China rally by Tibetan exiles in Kathmandu, detaining 250 protesters. Police holding plastic shields, dragged the protesters into iron-meshed vans and trucks and drove them to detention centers. This picture was also taken at the same time.

We also found the uniform of Nepal Police on Google which was very similar to the uniform seen in the viral image. So, it is clear that the security forces seen in the viral video are not from India.

In conclusion, the viral claim that the soldier of the Indian security force misbehaved with a woman in Assam is false. The viral picture is 12 years old from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and the security forces personnel seen in the picture are from Nepal Police.
