An old unrelated video is being shared with a false claim that a sad ceremony was organized by Muslims to pay tribute to ISIS terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who was killed recently.
On October 26th, 2019, terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in an operation by the United States. As soon as the US has announced the death of the Iraqi-born leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, many rumours had flooded the social media.
Recently, a Twitter user named Neela Tunga shared a video which she claimed that a sad ceremony was organized by Muslims to pay tribute to notorious Baghdadi. She captioned the video, “As Killing Of #AbuBakrAlBagdadi Was Confirmed, Musl*ms Organised Sad Ceremony to give Tribute To Him!! Language seems to be Bangla -so it should be Bangladesh or WB?. Why sad ceremony, he must be enjoying 72hoor's company. So there should be celebrations!”
You can watch the video here:
Many other people on social media are sharing the same video with similar captions.
In the video, some people can be heard creating some unusual sound however in the background something could be seen written in the Bengali language.
Truth Behind the video
To know the reality of this video, we took one of the keyframes of the video to do a reverse image search. In the results, we found links to many tweets where the same video has been shared with different captions.
Contrary to the recent claims about the video, most of the people have shared this as an ‘unusual and funny video’ with a related caption.
Renowned author, Tarek Fateh had shared the same video in the month of June with a caption, “Them rappers coming soon to a neighborhood near you.”
Another twitter used named Ritesh Desai also shared the video with a caption in Hindi which can be roughly translated to “New tune of Mr. Maulana.”
Many Twitter users have shared the video before the death of Baghdadi, which clearly leads us to the conclusion that this is an old video and has no relation with the death of one of the most wanted terrorists.
However, we were not able to trace the origin of the video but we can confidently say that this is an old video and has no relation with Baghdadi. The video is being shared on social media with a misleading claim.
Also, we couldn't find any media reports about anyone organizing a ceremony to pay tribute to ISIS terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who was killed recently.
