Fact Check : No, an Indian Soldier was not beaten to death by a mob in Kashmir recently

Summary

The viral video is from the old incident of October 2017 where the army soldier was assaulted by locals in Kupwara district of Kashmir on suspicious of being a braid chopper. He was injured but rescued safely.

A video is going viral on social media with a claim that an Indian army soldier was beaten up and killed by an angry mob in Kashmir. A tweeter user name Vinita Rajpoot tweet a post with a claim that "An Indian Army soldier was surrounded by Kashmiri Muslims, giving a message of Islamic peace, nobody will speak because Hamid Ansari's Muslim is scared !"

The same video is also going viral on Facebook. A user name Ramjado posted the video with a claim that "In Kashmir, today a soldier was beaten up and killed by a mob".

The  Viral video is of October 2017

When we research on google we found a report published on October 17, 2017. As per the report, the incident took place in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. A mob attacked Army jawan over suspicion that he was behind "braid chopping" incidents in the Kashmir Valley district. 

Locals alleged that the jawan was caught while he was cutting the braid of a woman. The Army jawan was brutally beaten and handed over to the police. c

Clashes had broken out in Srinagar as protesters pelted stones on security forces for alleged failure to arrest "braid choppers" in the Valley. He was not beaten to death but was injured

We also find a video of the same incident on Youtube published by Greater Kashmir with a caption clashes erupt in Kupwara after the braid-chopping incident, Territorial Army man thrashed

In order, to find out whether the viral video belongs to the same incident that happened on 0ct 2017, we did the comparison by taking screenshots of both the videos. 

On the right side of the image, we took screenshots of viral video while on the left side we took screenshots of a video published by Greater Kashmir on 0ct 2017. We found that both videos belonged to the same incident 

Conclusion: The viral claim is false that Indian army soldier was beaten up and killed by an angry mob in Kashmir. The viral video from an incident of 0ctober 2017 where the army man was attacked by a mob on the suspicion of being a braid chopper. The Jawan was not beaten to death but was injured.
