Summary

The picture from the case of domestic violence in Pakistan was shared as a case of Love Jihad in India.

A set of pictures is going viral on social media with a claim that a Hindu woman was beaten by her Muslim Husband in India. The first picture is a paper cutting showing two girls and in the other, a woman whose face has signs of injury and bleeding.

A Facebook user name Sachin Dubey Sultanpuri posted these photos with a caption, "In a month of Ramzan, Shivani and Riya from the Hindu community presented a precedent of Hindu-Muslim unity by keeping the fast on Ramzan. Today, Shivani's husband who is from the minority community has thrashed her, and the whole Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb has vanished.  Now she is the victim love jihad." (roughly translated from Hindi).

The same post is also going viral on Twitter. A user name Shailen Pratap tweeted, "Hindu daughters Shivani and Riya gave an example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Why did they do it? That also should be told? Shivani had observed the Roza but today her husband from the minority community has thrashed her. That was Love-Jihad with Shivani and now she is suffering. Hopefully, soon you will see such a photo of Riya also".

The truth of the first picture

In the investigation, we came to know that 'newspaper cutting' which is seen in the post, is from India, whereas the second picture in the viral post is from Pakistan. 'Shivaani and Riya Ka Roza', this news was published in the newspaper 'Dainik Bhaskar'  on 4 June 2019 from Madhya Pradesh. According to the newspaper, this story is about Shajapur town falling in the Malwa division of Madhya Pradesh, where two girls of Hindu community presented a precedent of Hindu-Muslim unity by keeping the fast on the last day of Ramzan.

Some local TV channels also reported this in which both of these girls Shivani and Riya can be heard saying that they had kept a ritual for peace of mind and for giving a message of unity in both religions. In these media reports, both girls were told to be 16 years old. In these reports, we did not get any mention of being married to any of the two girls.

The truth of the second picture

Social media is claiming that this is a picture of a girl named Shivani who has become a victim of alleged love-jihad. According to these claims, he used to fast for Hindu-Muslim unity a few days back and now his husband has beaten him. But this is completely false after reverse research on google we found that the injured women in the picture are Hajra Bibi who lives in Lahore, Pakistan. According to this report The victim, identified as Hajra Bibi, accused her husband and in-laws of brutally torturing her so that she would bring money from her parents. The incident occurred on March 13, and the FIR has been registered.

We got another news by Pakistan Media House Geo TV, which reports that this case is from Pakistan's Lahore. The news is about two girls who had been beaten up by their husband and both were badly hurt. One of these girls is named Asma Aziz and the second is Hajra. The girl whose photo is being shared with the fictitious story of Love Jihad is one of the girls Hajra. This is the matter of March 2019.

Conclusion: The picture from the case of domestic violence in Pakistan was shared as a case of Love Jihad in India.
