  • Share

Summary

The picture of Narendra Modi with Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi holding a Chadar with a message "There is no God except Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah" is real.

Recently, a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was getting viral on social media in which they both are holding a 'chadar', on which it was written in Urdu that "there is no god except Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah".

A Twitter user name Khushi Singh shared the picture and wrote "The text saying there is no god except Allah and Mohamad is the messenger of Allah that means except Islam every other religion is Fake. Modi endorsed it".

You can see the picture shared by her here:

After her tweet, many people started reacting and claiming that the image used was photoshopped.

A Twitter user name Subodh Dharkar tweeted a post with an image of PM with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi claiming that"It is photoshopped. The real gift is in this pic which doesn’t have all those nonsense things written on it". @narendramodi @PMOIndia take a note! @BjpITCELL97 @BJP4India take care !!

When we compare both the images, it became clear that these two images are from two different events since the dresses of PM Modi and Mr. Naqvi are quite different. In the first picture, PM Modi can be seen sporting saffron and green colored cloth around his neck while in the second image, he is wearing a Bandi on top of his Kurta.

In both the pictures, prime minister Narendra Modi and Mukhtar Abbas holding a 'chadar' but in the first picture, there is something written in Urdu on the chadar while there is nothing written on the 'chadar' in the second picture.

If we look at the background, it is clear that both the pictures are from a different location.

Not a Photoshopped Picture

We did reverse Research on google and found an article of India Today dated 21st April 2015. As per the article, Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had presented the ceremonial 'chadar' at the dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti's on behalf of Prime minister Narendra Modi during the 803rd annual pilgrimage of the Sufi Saint.

He said "I offered the chadar on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his message, the Prime Minister said: "On the occasion of the annual Urs of this great saint, I am offering 'chadar'  and wished India to be the top country in the world and wants the benefit of the development reaches to all the people of the country,". In the report, they also used the same picture of Narendra Modi and Mukhtar Abbas holding a 'Chadar' in which something is written in Urdu. You can see the picture here:

We also crossed check the claim by Khushi Singh on Google and found that according to the first kalima, "There is no god but Allah Muhammad is the messenger of Allah".

Now we can safely say that the photo of prime minister Narendra Modi and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is not photoshopped.
