Multiple viral tweets have claimed that Denmark has decided to stop its vaccination programme. In an investigation, it was found that the viral claim is misleading as Denmark has merely halted its vaccination drive and plans to resume later.
A viral Tweet by @goodfoodgal from April 27 claimed that Denmark has decided to stop its entire vaccination programme.
Other users, such as @kiwiwayne1 also Tweeted a similarly worded post on May 1.
By doing a relevant keyword search, it was found that Denmark has merely halted the vaccination process.
A news report by CNBC, titled "Denmark becomes the first country to halt its Covid vaccination program", sheds light on this. The article states that the Danish Health and Medicines Authority has said they will probably need to resume the vaccination programme again in the fall.
The official website of the vaccination programme states that vaccination is paused for the moment but it is still possible to get vaccinated.
In conclusion, Denmark has not stopped the vaccination programme altogether as the viral posts claim, but has merely been paused for the time being. The vaccination programme will probably resume in the fall.
