A viral video on Twitter features a mob vandalizing a railway station. The Tweets claim that Muslims are vandalising a station because train
whistles disturbed their Namaz. It was found that the video is from the CAA-NRC protest of 2019.
A number of Twitter posts went viral on May 4, featuring a video of some people offering Namaz while standing in knee-deep water. Twitter users like @shallakaul have shown their confusion in a Tweet.
@VForU_ retweeted @ProudDoctor_'s Tweet with a lot of malice and speculation. @ProudDoctor_ themself somehow links Congress to this incident in their Tweet.
Doing a reverse image search of keyframes from the video as well as relevant keyword searches, it was found that the video is from 2020 Bangladesh.
The incident was covered by several Bangladeshi news portals as well.
The reports state that this incident was during Eid-ul-Fitr, 2020 when thousands of people gathered in a flooded area in Khulna. The flood occurred when the cyclone 'Amphan' destroyed an embankment in the area.
The video had gone viral first in 2021 with similar claims when it was debunked by independent fact-checkers. A year later, it has gone viral once more.
In conclusion, the viral video depicting people offering Namaz is not from India, but from 2020 Bangladesh. The people seen in the video are gathered in a flooded area to offer Namaz during the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
