The truth behind the claim

In our investigation, we found the claim made in the post to be misleading.

20,000-liter liquid oxygen plant

On performing relevant keyword searches, we found several media reports stating that a liquid oxygen plant has been set up in Lucknow’s Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences hospital. SGPI Director Professor R.K Dhiman inaugurated the plant on April 17.

According to a report published in 'The Lucknow Tribune',  a 20,000-liter liquid oxygen plant has been installed at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute. The report further states, "till now, oxygen supply was being provided from the cylinder system in the capital Corona Hospital. It was consuming around 600 cylinders per day."

Notedly, the liquid oxygen will only provide oxygen supply to SGPGI, the hospital where the plant has been set up. Also, no report mentions that it has been built under 48 hours.

8-10 more oxygen plant to come up in a weeks time

It is true that CM Yogi Adityanath has announced the setting up of 10 new oxygen plants in the state. The authorities have been directed to start the work immediately, however, no deadline has been announced.

According to a report published by The Hindu on April 18, "The government has already issued instructions that all medical oxygen being supplied for industry work should be stopped immediately and the entire supply be made to only hospitals and announced the setting up of 10 new oxygen plants in the state with the support of the DRDO."

The Indian Express reported that the CM also directed the Health Minister and Additional Chief Secretary (Health) to identify locations to set up such plants and start the construction work immediately.
