The image of an injured CISF personnel who was attacked by a langur at Dhanbad on April 9 falsely shared as he was attacked by 'TMC goons' in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. The image has nothing to do with the poll violence at Sitalkuchi in West Bengal.
Maharashtra has been hit worst by the Coronavirus Pandemic, where it continues to report grim COVID-19 figures.
Amid this, a video is getting viral on social media in which some people can be seen lying on the floor with a claim that it shows the hideous situation of the coronavirus outbreak in Akola, Maharashtra.
A Facebook user name Ranjeet Kumar Singh shared the video with a claim that "Coronavirus outbreak in Maharashtra…Akola, Maharashtra, India"
The same video is also getting viral on Twitter with the same claim.
In our investigation, we found that the viral claim is false. The video is from Morbi in Gujarat and not from Akola in Maharashtra and people seen in the video are not infected with Covid.
After doing a reverse image search on Google using related keywords, we found a news report of The Times of India published on 3 April 2021. According to the report, this video is from Morbi, Gujarat, where some of the sick laborers lying on the floor were treated in the ceramic factory called "Capson Tiles" as hospitals were full and doctors' advised not to admit a non-covid patient.
As per the further report, These are not covid patients. Four to Five Labour's complained of fever and cough two days back and were taken to a nearby private hospital. But the hospital had no space and the doctors there advised us to treat them outside the hospital as they feared these men too may get infected with Covid in the hospital.
We also found a video on Youtube by News 24 Kalak in which the same visuals can be seen from the viral video. As per the description of the video, the incident took place in Morbi, Gujarat.
In Conclusion, a video of a non-covid patient treated in Morbi ceramic factory’s floor in Gujarat falsely shared as the situation of the coronavirus outbreak in Akola, Maharashtra. The video has nothing to do with Maharashtra and people seen in the video are not infected with Covid.
