Summary

An old image from 2015 showing a grand celebration of BJP's 35th foundation day is being falsely shared as a recent one from UP CM Yogi Adityanath's rally in Kerala.

The shocking footage of a flyover collapse shows people crushed under the bridge inside their cars are getting viral on social media with a claim that the video shows Balanagar-Jeedimetla flyover collapse in Hyderabad.

A Facebook user name Style video's vlog shares a video with a claim that "Balanagar Jeedimetla route. Under construction FLYOVER collapse. #Hyderabad #bridge #collapse"

Fact Check

In our Investigation, we found that the viral claim is false. This is a 2018 video of an under-construction flyover that collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi.

After doing a reverse image search on google using keyframes we found Several news reports which covered the same incident. An official youtube channel of ABP NEWS covered the whole incident. The description of the video reads "In a tragic incident in Varanasi’s cantonment area, a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed near the Cantt railway station, killing at least 18 people under its weight."

According to a news report, the incident took place on May 16, 2018, when two pillars of the under-construction flyover collapsed in Varanasi's Cantt area, bringing a huge slab of concrete down, crushing cars, and a local bus under it. Many of those trapped are reported to be laborers who were working on the flyover.

News agency ANI also shared images of the accident on his Twitter handle

However, we could not find any recent new articles or reports related to Balanagar-Jeedimetla flyover collapse. Hence the claim made in the post is false.

In conclusion, a three-years-old video of flyover collapse in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi is being falsely shared as of Balanagar-Jeedimetla flyover collapse.
