The Sikh community had protested in Delhi, expressing displeasure over this.

The protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar before starting their march towards the PM's 7, Race Course Road residence, but were stopped by police near the Parliament Street police station. Shouting slogans against Congress leaders, some of the protesters had a scuffle with the police. Around 50 protesters who tried to break through the barricades were detained by the officers.
