A two-year-old video from AAP's rally in Haryana showing laborers asking for an agreed-upon sum of Rs 350 per person for coming to a protest rally is being falsely linked to the ongoing farmers' protest in Delhi.
A video has emerged on social media platforms showing people waving BJP flags on the rooftop of a bus is claiming that 11-seconds clips is from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
A Facebook user named Abhisar Mehta shared with the caption, 'Bjp flag in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.'
This post received over 2000 reshares.
On further checking, we found that several other users are sharing the same image with a similar claim.
The image is also doing rounds on Twitter. One such caption reads, "A wave of happiness after India's airstrikes in POK. They have organized rallies in support of India with BJP flags and MODI MODI slogans. They want freedom from Pakistan."
In our investigation, we found this claim to be false. The video is from an election rally in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Union territory is witnessing district development council (DDC) elections in eight phases.
With the help of a reverse image search, we found a longer version of the viral video uploaded on the official Facebook page of BJP's J&K unit on November 22, 2020.
According to a Vishwas News report, the media head of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP, Manzoor Bhat confirmed that the video is from the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, "This video is from a recent election rally in Kishtwar, Jammu."
For the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 and reorganization of J&K, DDC elections and panchayat by-elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir from November 28 to December 19 in eight phases.
In conclusion, an unrelated video from an election campaign of BJP in the Kishtwar district of J&K is being widely shared with a false claim that it shows BJP flags being waived in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
