Summary

The viral video showing a woman being killed by hitting an ax on her head is not from India.

Recently, a video is being widely circulated on social media platforms purportedly showing Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut dancing. The video is being shared with a claim that the video was taken after Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials demolished ‘illegal alterations’ at actor Kangana Ranaut's Mumbai office-cum-residence Manikarnika Films.

A user named Kanish Tyagi shared the 22-seconds video clip with a caption, "NAUGHTY @rautsanjay61 caught dancing after @mybmc vandalized @KanganaTeam office."

Another user named Mehul shared the video on Twitter saying after abusing actor Kangana Ranaut, Sanjay Raut is dancing like a peacock.

The video is doing rounds of Facebook with a similar claim.

The truth behind the claim

In our investigation, we found that the viral video clip is an old one and the man dancing in a blue shirt is a Parbhani Police officer, Lakshman Bhadarge

We came across a YouTube video that was uploaded in 2019 making the same claim, thereby establishing the fact that it is definitely not a recent video.

With the help of keyword search, we found that a report by the regional news channel Saam Marathi TV. According to the report, the same video was also viral back in December 2019 with the same claim. However, the man in the video is a Parbhani-based cop Lakshman Bhadarge.

At the 2:00 mark, Bhadarge said, “My friend’s son was getting married at Shirur. I had gone to a wedding, A lot of old friends had gathered there. Everyone insisted that this wedding is like one of our family’s and we should enjoy and dance. Due to everyone’s insistence, I danced for 5 minutes. When the marriage was over, I came back (to Parbhani). Two days later I got a visit from a journalist, a lot of people called and I realized that my video had gone viral. I was tired of receiving so many calls.”

Other regional news websites such as  SarkarnamaPolicenama, and Sakal also published reports on the video when it had gone viral in December 2019.

In conclusion, an old video of a Parbhani-based cop Lakshman Bhadarge who was dancing at a wedding is being shared with the false claim that it shows Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut dancing after Kangana Ranaut office was vandalized.
