 Fact Check

In our investigation, we found that the video is from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh, where the woman was being beaten up over a land dispute between husband and wife. The family is not from a Muslim community.

After using related keywords, we found a news report of Dainik Bhaskar published on May 22, 2020 in which the same video was used. According to the report, there was a dispute over the sale of a house between Ashok and his wife Sushila, living in the Rehra Bazar police station area of Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh. Ashok wanted to sell the house to his brother but Sushila was in favor of selling it to someone else. There was a dispute between the two about this matter. Sushila called up UP police helpline for help, but when police arrived, Ashok started beating her. Her brother in law and his three sons also attacked her. SP Dev Ranjan Verma suspended two employees after the video went viral. Four people have been arrested and two are absconding

In Conclusion, there is no communal angle in the case. The woman was beaten by her own family members over a land dispute.
