A fake message is going viral on social media in the name of billionaire philanthropist and Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata. The message claims that Ratan Tata has called 2020 only the year of survival, and one shouldn't worry about profits and losses this year.

A Twitter user name P.N.Rai shared a screenshot of a news article with a caption "2020 is the year of survival, Money can come again".  It also shows a picture of Ratan Tata.

The headline of the article reads “Ratan Tata’s message: 2020 is the year of survival, don’t worry about profit and loss”.

 The full article reads

'Ratan Tata has issued a short message for business professionals. He has motivated businessmen and industrialists in his message. In his short message, Ratan Tata has said, my friend from the business field, remember that 2020 is the year to survive. You shouldn't worry about profits and losses this year. Don't talk about plans and dreams too. The most important thing this year is to keep yourself alive. Surviving will also be like making a profit' ( Translated from Hindi )

Ratan Tata called out the fake message on Twitter

Talking about the fake article which has a quote attributed to him, Ratan Tata took to twitter to debunk this false claim and clarified, "I’m afraid this too, has not been said by me. I will endeavour to call out fake news whenever I can, but would encourage you to always verify news sources. My picture alongside a quote does not guarantee me having said it, a problem that many people face".

Ratan Tata also urged people to always verify news sources.

Earlier, in April as well, RatanTata had denied another note attributed to him about the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the economy. Fact Hunt had debunked this claim earlier.
