A picture is going viral on social media, in which some people can be seen threatening a person wearing saffron-colored cloth and holding a sword in his hand. With this photo people are claiming that it is RSS people who are threatening people.
A Twitter user name Ayaan Nafi share a picture with a claim that "The RSS are terrorists. They’ve always been so. Now they control the government in India .Prophet (PBUH) said, "Oppression will be a darkness on the Day of Resurrection." [Bukhari]"
The same picture was also shared by a twitter user name Khaled Beydoun with the same caption .However, now this tweet has been deleted
In our investigation, we found that the viral claim is fake. The picture is actually of a scene from the film Parzania released in 2007, which is now being viral in the wrong context.
After doing reverse research of the image we found a news article of Indian Express published on 29 June, 2016 .The title of the story is "Before Shorgul, nine Bollywood films that portrayed Hindu-Muslim tension". In Which the smae picture can been seen
According to the caption written beelow the image "Parzania (2007): One of the most hard-hitting films, based on the 2002 Gujarat riots, featured Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika in the lead roles. The film is inspired by the true story of a 10-year-old Parsi boy, who disappeared after the 28 February 2002 Gulbarg Society massacre, during the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002. The film traces the journey of a family while trying to locate their missing son".
We also found the Parzania movie on youtube . In the movie a scene comes at 37 minutes, in which some people can be seen wearing a saffron colour cloth and a sword in their hands. In this scene, they threaten a person wearing a blue vest. This is a scene in which the viral photo has been taken.
Conclusion ,we found that a screengrab of the 2005 Parzania film based on the 2002 Gujarat riots, is now being shared on social media with a caption against RSS. The Image has nothing to do with RSS
