The world is going facing an economic slowdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. After observing Janta Curfew on March 22, India is placed under lockdown for the next 21 days, all offices are closed except the ones providing basic services. Amid all this, a message is doing rounds on WhatApps claiming that Rs 5,000/- would be deducted from the salary/pension of the government employees.
The widely circulated message reads, "PM Modi has announced today that a sum of Rs 5,000/- would be deducted from the salary/pension of the government employees to save people from COVID-10."
We also received a request to check the veracity of this claim.

This viral message is fake. The PIB fact-check tweeted and called out this claim to be fake.
The tweet also had a warning message about the fake news that is being widely circulated amid the Covid19 outbreak.
