OP's Perspective

It was reported that almost 17,000 trees will be cut to accommodate for the redevelopment work of seven residential colonies having 25,667 government flats which will have 70,000 underground car parking in the national capital. The decision led to a massive protest following which NBCC and CPWD agreed in the high court to halt the felling of trees till July 4.

AAP has claimed that the decision to cut trees came from Harsh Vardhan’s Environment Ministry of Central Government. Harsh Vardhan, on the other hand, said that the trees are in the non-forest area and his ministry has nothing to do with the order.

Following public outrage union housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that no trees will be cut in the process of redevelopment of seven neighborhoods in South Delhi. as reported by Hindustan Times.

Let's discuss who gave the order to cut down the tree in first place.
